They don't whine about pointless shit like most of today's artists. They had meaningful and sentimental songs (i.e. The Light Behind Your Eyes and Helena which was written for Mikey and Gerard Way's late grandmother as well as Skylines and Turnstiles which was written for the terrorist attacks on 9/11.) As well as having and amazing and unique sound, they were inspirations to other people.
