North Atlantic Drift (or NAD as an abbreviated term) is the action to which a cricket ball 'drifts' towards a batsmen whilst in the air, lulling them into playing the ball to the leg side. However, contrary to physics and cricketing norms, when the ball pitches it turns viciously to the off side, leaving the batsmen dumbfounded, perplexed and more often that not on his/her way back to the pavilion.
