veternitzz (vet-er-nit-sss) - A good or otherwise exceptional opponent.

Derived from the word veteran as veterans of a craft are often good. Veteran was then shortened to vetern and then combined with bits. The b was removed leaving with veternits. The s was replaced with one and eventually two z's.
