Text conversation

A conversation, usually in text, MSN or Facebook chat, in which the conversee's (people in the conversation) communicate using only 'smiley' faces (faces can also be sad), and sometimes single letters, for example 'K' and 'U'.

An example of text conversation using only smiley faces;

Guy 1) She broke up wiv me.
Guy 2) :\
Guy 1) :'(
Guy 2) :(
Guy 1) :)

Another example is when one person is trying to keep the conversation alive, whilst another is only using smilies and single letters.

Guy 1) R U cumin 2 town?
Guy 2) Yeah, are you coming in as well?
Guy 1) Yeh
Guy 2) I might be a bit late.
Guy 1) :\
Guy 2) Is that ok?
Guy 1) K
Guy 2) OK, I'll see you later :)
Guy 1) KK, cya.

text calling

when your text app is broken or you have recently lost texting on your phone and call up a buddy to relay a two to three word message followed with hanging up immediately.

Jason- (to himself) Damn, my text app doesn't work again. No nevermind. (starts calling Frank).

Frank- (recieving call) Hey.

Jason- (says to Frank) What up mane? (hangs up)

Frank- (to himself) What the actual fuck? Jason and his text calling.

Text Sniping

The act of noticing someone who you know in a crowd or some other public situation and sending them a text from an unknown position referring to something which they are doing at the time e.g. "Reading by the lakeside, how very avant garde" this simulates the 'shot out of nowhere' effect of a sniper.

<Maria is having coffee>
Scott: (unseen by Maria) <observes Maria from a distance and sends a text> "ooh two sugars, bit of a sweet tooth aren't you?"

Maria: <checks phone and begins looking around aimlessly> replies "where are you?"

Scott: "I'm text sniping, so you have to guess"

Text-lashing

A series of at least three consecutive, uninterrupted texts in which the sender scolds the recipient. Modern day equivalent of a tongue-lashing.

While Randy set down his smart phone for a few minutes to attend to something, his girlfriend used her smart phone to unleash a severe text-lashing over something he had done.

The ability to walk along the street whilst writing a text and avoid all oncoming traffic without looking up from your phone.

Dave: "Did you see the way that girl just changed direction without looking up from her phone, she was on a serious collision course with a pram"

Text coward

A person who is such a wuss that he can only act all bolshie and tough by text message, but not by phone and most certainly not face-to-face

He's having a go at me by text message again. What a text coward!
