Validation Whore

Someone who goes out of their way/shows off to obtain the validation/acceptance they want.

*in a huge group chat instead of one on one*

Tim: "Oi Eric I'm getting a car tomorrow, I wanna know if you think it's a good one or not?"
Eric: "Yeah sure mate, what kind you thinking?"
Tim: "car brand here - a really expensive one"
Eric: "Ah sweet, yeah get one of those."
Tim: *continues to talk about how amazing said car is*
Tim: "I'm not sure"
Tim: "Do you reckon it's worth it?"

*outside of said group chat*

Phoebe: "Tim is such a validation whore!"

Girl #1: "Omg, I'm so ugly!"
Girl #2: "No you're not!"
Girl #3: "You're gorgeous!"
Girl #4: "Don't say that! You're stunning!"
Girl #5: "You're perfect!"
Girl #1: Aww thanks guys! ... I still think I am though."

(And thus the cycle repeats, giving Girl #1 an endless amount of fished compliments).
