Nerds are people that come onto urbandictionary.com to write favorable, biased, definitions of themselves so they can raise their self esteem a little bit because they have no friends. You may find the nerds at your school getting picked on by the jocks or "popular group". They always try to convince themselves and other people that they will end up making more money than said jocks and "popular group", which is not necessarily true because jocks can sometimes, if they are good enough, make it to professional sports, and the "popular group' is usually rich to begin with and will take over the family business and will have nerds do the dirty work for them.

Nerd 1: "Hey, lets go add good things about nerds on urbandictionary.com and wikipedia.org so people can think we are cool!" *Does a snort laugh and pushes glasses up on his nose*

nerd: there are many simliar sterotypes of nerd out there on the internet,which by the way was not created by a team of nerds,it was actually created by a bunch of military engineers in the 1950's,the means of communication was a lot more crude but it worked,these were the true pioneers who were not in it for the money,but had a genuine interest in what they were actually achieving..most nerds are anoraks,with mediocre jobs in it or occupational etc..

FOR EXAMPLE THE SO CALLED CEO OF FACEBOOK WAS JUST A TALENTLESS HACK,WHO ACTUALLY STOLE/COPIED HIS HARVARD COLLEGUES IDEAS AND BRANDED THEM AS HIS OWN..

FYI: Most nerds end up spending 24 hours online for two to three days straight,have a LOT OF SKELETONS IN THE CLOSET..

Do not let their so called shy demenour make you think they are genuinely shy,THESE NERDS HAVE A HELL OF A LOT TO HIDE FROM YOU..

They will ususally try to befriend your neigbours,family friends..etc..IN ORDER TO ABUSE YOUR CHILDREN OR SOMEONE ELSES..

A nerd is someone who is smart in all subjects, yet focuses on one subject to be a specific interest. There is a difference between a nerd and a geek. A geek would is a wanna-be nerd and can be identified as having a weird accent, pants up to tight, huge glasses and usually not the best looking person around. A nerd, however, does not have to be bad looking and can be accepted by other groups because of his/her other hobbies, such as sports and music.

One other thing to note is that there is something called geek-chic (which is a misnomer as geeks have bad taste and should be called nerd-chic). This style includes carrying a sports-equipment looking bag, small framed glasses and casual clothing.

Boy 1: Winston is such a nerd.
Boy 2: I know, what girl would date him?

Girl 1: Wow, did you see Winston with this glasses today? He looks hot!
Girl 2: I know. You gonna ask him out?
Girl 1: For sure!

Often confused with geek. A nerd is simply a socially inapt and possibly autistic person - usually a young white male. Nerds may or may not have a high IQ, and they tend to prefer being alone or with fellow nerds who they know will not judge them. Even if they're intelligent, nerds are very undisciplined tend to make average grades in high school because they spend their study hall period daydreaming about World of Warcraft and and the Lord of the Rings trading card game (which they play at their mom's house with male friends each Saturday night while their classmates are going on dates). As a result of feeling inadequate they usually never put their intelligence to real use and usually end up working fast food jobs and rarely lose their virginity.

Geeks on the other hand are just intelligent guys with interest in technical knowledge (such as computers) - but are not actually socially inapt and are likely very mature for their age (while nerds are less mature for their age). They may still be made fun of by the extremely prejudiced because they put school and work over partying and fun, but you will likely end up working for them once you're out of high school while they'll be paying more in taxes then you earn in a year.

Nerd speak: Hey joe did you get the new expansion pack for world of warcraft yet? Its so awesome hahahah! I found a glitch in it where i can make the character walk through a wall and get all the way to the end boss in like just 1 hr. normally that takes all day. and when i do that the boss is at level 1 even though hes supposed to be at level 50 if you get to him the normal way so i killed him in one punch because i was at level 10!! lolololo sweeet!!! if you wanna come play with me and ned this saturday i'll show you how to do it. My mom said its okay!

Geek speak: I got accepted to Yale on a full scholarship and I'm heading there this fall. I waited too late to apply for financial aid at Harvard so I guess I'll just have to settle for my safety school. I'm thinking of studying neurosurgery in medical school. It's a toss up between either that or a major in aerospace engineering. I'll decide later.
