Get the Weight Traitor mug.Weightlifting isn't a sport, it's like boxing in that sense. Even if there is strategy and technique involved, boxing is two guys (or girls) beating the shit out of each other, and weightlifting is people getting exercise. Any time you turn something like getting regular exercise into sport or a competitive activity, it begins to get silly.

Weightlifting might be something people one day do while riding a pony on an obstacle course, but that doesn't make calling it a sport any less of a silly idea, especially since the pony didn't sign itself up for it.
