Abort, Retry, Fail?

Abort, Retry Fail? or sometimes Abort, Retry, Ignore, Fail? was an error message displayed in DOS when unable to read data. The user is prompted to hit either A, R, I or F accordingly.

Abort - Aborts the operation.
Retry - Tries to read the data again.
Ignore - Hands "default data" to the application requesting the data.
Fail - Tries to continue without the data. Fail nearly always proves unsuccessful as it will result in missing data.

Retry is in most cases the only hope for success.

A term that could be used as an insult or to take the piss when someone makes a silly mistake (a bit like 'duh' or similar) or fails something (like a test or challenge).

Originates from a game called 'Blazing Star', where the game over message reads: "You fail it! Your skill is not enough, see you next time, bye-bye"

Raven fail

When someone who's been chatting in a chat room suddenly exits, due to hitting the exit button or similar by accident, and then enters only a few seconds after.

Originates from a time when WhiteRaven, a member at www.tuomas-holopainen.com, suddenly exited the Tuomas-chat on the page, and then entered only seconds later, several times on the same day, someday in December 2010. The term has been used by people in the chat room ever since.

Abbreviation: "Raven"

"Alex did a Raven fail, haha", "Sorry, I did a Raven" :p

Failblog moment

When someone makes such an embarrassingly stupid mistake that it is worthy to be on Failblog.org in picture or video form. The funny equivalent to a kodak moment.

Actual example from Failblog.org:

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. - Authorities said a couple got into a fight using 'cheetos'. The Bedford County Sheriff's Department said a 40-year old man and a 44-year old woman became involved in a 'verbal altercation'. Somehow, the orange puffy snacks were used in the assault. Deputies said they were charged with domestic assault. No one was hurt. They both were posted with a bond of $2,500.

That is a perfect example of a Failblog moment.

Getting a test score below 90%.

With the possibilty of being dissowned by your asian parents.

Usually used by girls in mostly asian schools (eg: mac.rob).
