karagiozis

Karagiozis or Karaghiozis (Greek Καραγκιόζης, from Turkish Karagöz) is a shadow puppet and fictional character of Greek folklore derived from the Ottoman Turkish Karagöz. He is the main character of the tales narrated in the Greek shadow-puppet theatre. Karagöz in Turkish means 'black-eye', and it is the origin of this character's name.

In slung it is used as as synonym to malakas, clown,poser, someone who is ridiculous, someone who says something ridiculous. Also used in football for someone who loses a great chance for goal etc.

He is karagiozis, look what he just did, he send the ball out while he was alone with the goalpost.

Are you karagiozis? you ridiculed yourself again? What were you thinking?

I hate the karagiozis (des for many) playing rackets on the beach thinking they are fucking Federer or something.

A former NBA player of the Utah Jazz, played the majority of his career with the Utah Jazz. A multiple member of the Olympic part of the first dream team, and the best team ever assembled. A teammate of John Stockton, the Stockton Malone combination was the best of the combination was the greatest duo in the history of the NBA. Finished his career with the Los Angeles Lakers in trying to win the elusive NBA championship, fell short to the Detroit Pistons. Fell short with the Utah Jazz vs the Bulls twice.

Karbala

Karbala is a city in Iraq. It was also the place of an important battle in Islamic history between Imam Hussain (the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad) and Yazid. Hussain had only 72 companions with him versus Yazid's thousands of trained warriors. In the aftermath, Hussain's army was slaughtered. Imam Hussain's sacrifice for justice and truth is looked upon and adored by many around the world. The event is held in high esteem among the Shia and is commemorated every year during Ashura.
