Typically a form that involves deception, most commonly shoving butter into someone and spreading it like a wave to form a galaxy wave that looks like butter. Usually, this is done to anger someone and make them have trust issues for the rest of their lives.

As a prank, I decided to do the butter wave on my friend, he slipped and cracked his head open because I didn't know butter was slippery.
