It's purely comedic. Apparently you can't take it off or you'll die and it raises people from the dead. The funny part was that Anthony had to go to his great aunts funeral the next day. And you can imagine what his great aunt tried to do once she was undead.

To break this rule is to be forever known as a bitch or a dick.
