a term applied to activities, events, and motion pictures supposedly geared towards all members of a family: from infants to grandparents. in all actuality, the term means "fun for everyone except for teenagers and people with an iota of sense".
Mother: "Why don't you watch this asinine Disney movie with us? It's fun for the whole family!"
Adolescent: "No, it's fun for annoying little kids and old people who wish they were that young again. I would much rather eat a light bulb than kill my brain cells watching that shit."

#2: An eccentric way to say that there is nothing
