Scalpin

A man in his 20s with horrendous male pattern baldnes and flat out refuses to do anything about it. The look of said early balding pleb is so offensive everyone wants to buy them a toupee or chip in for a hair transplant
Have you seen that scalpin over there, God above the light reflecting off his balding head is blinding me!
I bet his Mrs is with him out of sympathy.

Scraping Scalps

Similar to Snatching Wigs, it's the extra UMPH. It's when I wig is snatched so fiercely, quickly, and with such unrepentant prejudice, that the hoes clutch their pearls and hold tightly onto their lacefronts when said scalp-scraper enters the room so that they may be able to hold onto their Remy for another week.
The fact that Adele can outsell all other artists while sitting on her chair shows that snatching wigs can be done my many artists, but scraping scalps is an artform.

Scally

ned, bazza, townie

A term coined originally in Liverpool to group together a certain type of person through their clothes, language and ideals.
The male 'scally' can be easily recognised through his clothing and language used. Hair is to be short and thickly gelled, often accompanied by a cap (Burberry preferably) tilted at a 45 degree angle. Gold jewelly is a must, curb chains and bracelets mainly, but the sovereign ring must also be taken into account. A small hooped earring never goes amiss. Tops must be slightly baggy and carrying a latest brand name (at time of writing Henri Lloyd is popular). Polo shirts (Hackett) are also a popular motif of the scally, coupling heavy branding with an ability to lift the fold-over collar up around the neck. Tracksuit bottoms are the desirable trouser of choice, often being rolled into sport socks. Trainers must be worn (except on nights out where loafers become king). Reebok Classics or Nike Air Max are still the reigning style, although Adidas County trainers are becoming seen more widely. Transport comes from 'suped-up' cars which are often between 10 and 20 years old. The lower to the floor, the better. Swearing is a common factor of scally language, along with monoslylaabic terms, possibly due to the dropping out of education before GCSE's could be taken.

The female scally is often seen with a much older male scally. Hair is scraped back and heavily hairsprayed. Limitless amounts of make-up cover any blemishes, and the look is finsihed off with big hooped earrings. Clothes wise, tracksuit tops and tracksuit bottoms or jeans are preferred, along with the mandatory trainers. VPL always helps. Smoking and a young baby in a second hand pushchair are good accessories.

To find a scally, your best bet will be to parade the local big shopping mall, the local nightspots or, especaiily in seaside resorts, the main parade along the beach where numerous scally cars can be seen circling round, and round, and round...

Scaly

This is a sub-fandom of the overarching “furry” fandom, whose interests lay in creatures with scales, or whose characters have the qualities of creatures with scales, such as a snake, lizard, dragon, etc. Scalys are quite popular and have made themselves a name in the furry community. They also are, it seems, one of the more diverse sub-fandoms, with characters ranging from the ordinary, typical creature to the more outrageous, out-of-the-world, and odd-ball creatures.

A few strong examples of the scaly sub-fandom are:

• Max_Dragon: A user on multiple websites, such as Deviantart and Fur Affinity. He is a proud realistic artist and scaly, as dragons are depicted in most of his drawings, especially his dragon-fursona (named “Max”).

• kabier: A user on multiple websites, such as Patreon and Fur Affinity. She is a skilled cartoon-style artist and holds several raptor-fursonas, one of them named Genesis. She holds a top spot in popularity, and has a mass of followers, especially on Fur Affinity.

• Sulfer: A user that operates mainly on the website Fur Affinity, and a self-proclaimed art whore. Sulfer is a fursuiter around the Ohio area, and is a dragon-fursona depicted in a library of digital art found on his user page. He tends to romp around AnthroCon when it comes around.

These examples are few compared to the number of scalys world-wide.
Person A: Hey, why is so-and-so so obsessed with dragons and sh*t? He talks about them all the time!

Person B: He's a scaly, dude!

———

Person A: You heard about that group of fursuiters… they looked like lizards!… that raised money for charity?

Person B: The scalys? Yeah, I heard. That's pretty neat, actually!
