Kenenisa Bekele

22 year old Ethiopian distance running sensation. Bekele has won the World Cross Country Championships' short course (4k) and the long course (12k) together in the last three years. Previously, this had never been done at all, let alone by someone so young. Bekele proved himself on the track at the 2003 World Championships by winning the 10k. In 2004, within a period of 8 days, he eclipsed his fellow countryman Haile Gebrselassie's 5k and 10k records by approximately 2 seconds each. In both races he had no one to challenge him, and the rabbits did not do their job properly, so it is generally assumed that he will continue to lower his own world record. He recently won the Olympic gold medal in the 10k in olympic record time (27:05). He was so dominant that he ran the last lap in 53 seconds and said "It was no problem for me" after the race. He is the favorite in the upcoming 5k Olympic Final which will be one of the most competitive distance races of all time featuring Bekele, 20 year old Ethiopian prodigy Sileshi Sihine who won silver in the Olympic 10k, world champion Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge and world runner-up at 5k and world champ at 1500 from Morocco Hicham El Guerrouj. If Bekele wins, he will be the first to complete the 5k and 10k double since Miruts Yifter, also from Ethiopia, in 1980.

"Barking" someone is a harmless prank created around May 11th, 2021. The prank consists of a random video thats usually around the length of 3-10 seconds, and at the end, theres usually "bark glasses" on the main character(s)/item(s) in the video. Lexi, the creator of the Objectify mod, started this joke. Nobody knows how and why it's so fucking funny, but it is.

Berkeley goggles

Similar to the beer goggles effect, a person which one would not find typically attractive is seen as attractive. This effect is a cause of the UC Berkeley bubble, where a lesser amount of typically attractive people exist. Another factor included is the envelopment of academia connected to a decline in one's social life.

Me: At first I didn't think (insert name here) was so cute, but there is something different about them this semester.

Friend: Looks like you're sporting the Berkeley goggles now. You've been in the Berkeley bubble too long. At least your option has a good personality.

Berber

Berbers are the indigenous peoples of North Africa (also Known as the Maghreb: Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria). Historically they spoke various Berber languages, which together form a branch of the Afro-Asiatic language family. Today many of them speak Arabic. Between 14 and 25 million Berber-speakers live within this region, most densely in Algeria and Morocco, becoming generally scarcer eastward through the rest of the Maghreb like in Tunisia and Libya (even though 65 % of Tunisians are believed to be of Berber origins but were arabized).

Many Berbers call themselves some variant of the word Imazighen (singular Amazigh), meaning "free people". This is common in Morocco, but elsewhere within the Berber homeland a local, more particular term, such as Kabyle or Chaoui, is more often used instead. Historically Berbers have been variously known, for instance as Libyans by the ancient Greeks, as Numidians and Mauri by the Romans, and as Moors by medieval and early modern Europeans. The modern English term is borrowed from Arabic, but the deeper etymology of "Berber" is not certain.

The best known of them were the Roman author Apuleius, the Roman emperor Septimius Severus, and Saint Augustine of Hippo. A famous Berber living today is the international football star Zinedine Zidane.

Berber means "free men".
