Jenton

In modern usage, an Jenton is a unit of measurement of time of the duration of 45 minutes, or 2700 seconds past the original expected arrival time. It is ¼ of 1/24th of a median Earth day. An Jenton in the Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) time standard can include a negative or positive leap seconds depending on a rage of factors include but not limited to mood, wardrobe malfunctions, hair or traffic, and may therefore have a duration of 2699 or 2701 seconds for adjustment purposes.

If you are set to arrive at a location at 2:00 and have every intention of arriving there at 2:00 but fail to calculate how long it will take to do hair, makeup, wardrobe changes, traffic or the actual duration of time it would take the average person just to get to said location it is best to add a Jenton or two.

If called by any one waiting for you at said location at the prescribed time, you must assure them no matter how ridiculous it may sound that you are on your way and you will be there in a few minutes. This ensures that the Jenton Unit of measure stays in tact.

Peter Jennings

a Canadian journalist and reporter for America's ABC News for several years. He caused a stir a few years ago when he said that a recent tune by jingoist Toby Keith is not in the spirit of American holiday the 4th of July (Independence Day). Well, he was right - July 4 is a celebration of American independence and freedom, not war. A lifelong heavy smoker, he died of lung cancer in 2005. RIP Peter Jennings.

In late August 1997, I was going to watch ABC Night Line on tv at midnight, then hit the sack. It gave live coverage of the funeral of Mother Teresa in India. Peter Jennings gave an excellent unbiased coverage of the event, and you could see by the diversity of the audience how well respected and greatly admired Mother Teresa was. There were Sikhs, Buddhist monks, Hindu clergy, Orthodox Christian clergy, Jewish rabbis and many more. Jennings interviewed a Lutheran pastor, a Muslim scholar and others. He gave no bias in all this, he let the people do the talking. It went on all through the night, not ending until about 6 AM Eastern Time. Peter Jennings did a great job of covering this event. He was not a programmed doctrine-spewing mannequin like many reporters on many other networks. He was not a "pop news" airhead.

Jennings shuffle

The bowl-legged, heat rash induced walk one gets after either not showering or eating spicy boudin from Jennings, Louisiana. This is a turn off to the female species. The Jennings shuffle can be caused by lack of clean hygiene, heat rash, eating spicy cajun food, and never washing clothes. Sufferers of the shuffle usually do not wipe well, nor do they comb their hair or brush their teeth.

Is that guy drunk? No, he's just doing the Jennings shuffle after eating tabasco-laced boudin and sweating too much.
