They are the raised reflectos that are on the white lines on the highway.

Botts' Dots are named after their inventor, Elbert Botts, a chemist who worked for Caltrans in the 1950s because painting the lines every year was very expensive and dangerous.

Those botts dots sure are annoying the kids are sleeping in the back seat!

Just as sand nigger refers to a person of Middle Eastern descent, dot nigger describes someone of the Indian race.
This comes from the red dot Indian women start to wear when they get married.

Chris: "Hey Ryan, what's that smart Indian's guy name from math class"
Ryan: "Oh, that dot nigger 's name is Mohammad or something like that."
