Fe-mate

A combonation of the words "female" and "mate" that a male can use to describe a female friend, without saying the word "Girl friend".

The use of this word means that a male can express that he has a bond with a female without sounding like they are "together"

Dude A " Yeah i was talking about that with my fe-mate, Erica."

Dude A " Shes my girlfriend, that one in the pink."
Dude B " Really? You and Rachel broke up then?"
Dude A " Oh woops, i mean shes my fe-mate"
Dude B " oooooh."

he's the geezer whos always down the pub propping up the bar after a long day in the white van, usually a tradesman of some kind. He lives down the local estate and is known by everyone "as me mate dave!" as he will do anything for you as he's a kind hearted bloke whos full of energy and will talk to anyone about anything, especially after you've bought him a pint! ( dont call him David though, its too posh, and he thinks he's been nicked!)

Some idiot reckons Aussies Don't say g'day mate. Well LET ME TELL YOU WE DO !. We say g'day as a general meeting gesture, to Both MALE AND FEMALE, YOUNG AND OLD. A Female can say g'day AND say g'day mate as well. G'DAY MATE IS ALMOST ALWAYS USED when addressing a MALE. No matter what country YOU! May come from!.Political correctness has now crawled in and Sheilas can & will call other females mate as well as to the males. (MATE), means FRIEND. (UNTIL proven OTHERWISE.).
