linguistic intolerance

A symptom of bigotry in which a bigot insists that the spelling, grammar, or pronunciation of other languages, cultures, or subcultures are inferior, or simply wrong.
Some linguistically intolerant Jews and Muslims, such as the late Sheikh Ahmed Deedat complain about what they call, the J Sickness, in which most European languages substitute the letter J for the letter Y when transliterating names from ancient texts, such as:

Joel for Yael
Judah for Yehuda
Joshua for Yeheshua
Joseph for Yusuf
Jonah for Yunus
Jesus for Yesus or Yeshua
Jehovah for Yehowa or Yahweh

Since J is the letter used to produce the Y sound in most European languages, this complaint is an example of petty linguistic intolerance. Sheikh Deedat also rather amusingly blamed the "J" sickness on Jehovah's Witnesses, as if they, in the 20th century had had the power to change the way Europeans spelled names in medieval times, so it's difficult to determine whether his bigotry was against Christians in general, Jehovah's Witnesses, or Europeans. Linguistic Terrorism

Destroying a language by using it incorrectly or in a way that is not in line or accordance with its rules, conventions, etc.
In the University of Excellence in English Language and Language Arts, Joe was convicted of first-degree linguistic terrorism by the University's faculty and superintendent when he wrote an entire research paper (53 pages to be precise) in which he used the word "then" in every place where he should've used "than" and misspelling every word in the last 25 pages. He was accordingly given a 25-year sentence (instead of a 10 non-decillion one, which the superintendent was very tempted to give) in order for him to learn his lesson and in order to warn others that the English language will be rigorously and strictly preserved at all costs.

Adnani Linguistic Theory

The Adnani linguistic theory deals with the definition of words. It is based on the premise that dictionaries should move away from the function of an abridged encyclopedia and start constructing discrete formulas that can be used to decode all words.

One quick example that comes to mind is to define a word by a sequence of three words, the first of which identifies the discrete object and the second two help us locate it in the cognitive map.

Examples:

Boy = Male at youth

Youth = Stage of development

Development = Growing with intention

Intention = Action with deliberation

Music = Sound with intention

Sound = Information with loudness

Information = Clues about reality

The interesting, and even fun part about working on these algorithms is that they are actually more metaphysical and metaphorical than the standard suggestive, encyclopedic methodology.

For example:

Color = Variation invoking emotion

Blue = Color of God

Notice that a color can be any "variation", so a change in speech, or perhaps a musical movement, or even the mood of a given setting.

The most important change that one would see with the implementation of such a system of definition is that meaning would cease to be an aloof idea that everyone should hope to randomly stumble upon and would start to be the social foundation that we all desire it to be.
The creator of the Adnani Linguistic Theory believes that a more formulaic method of definition will lead to an increased base of common and useful meaning in the world.
