When in a public place with plenty of open seats, a person chooses to sit right next to you for no viable reason.
I usually go to the library early Wednesday mornings since no one is there. Today, it was empty as usual but some creep committed a major public proximity violation and sat RIGHT NEXT to me at the huge table in the law area!

Get the Public Proximity Violation mug.describing people who only care about eating, sleeping, making money, and owning crap. Very unimaginative, uncultured people with no concept of the arts, history, language, faith, travel, or why any those things should be valued. Has not visited a library or museum since the 7th grade. Doesn't know the name of a bluebird (really). Like Mr. Banks in Mary Poppins, they "can't see past the end of their nose".

"I swear I'm in love with this girl from Philosophy class. I've been sitting next to her for like three weeks and it's obvious we're meant for each other."
"Well do you know anything else about her? I bet you've just made up a life outside of class for her in your head. You're getting caught up in a short-sighted proximity infatuation man, just wait a couple weeks after class is over and you won't even remember her."

Get the Provinceside mug.Use this word when you want to seem smart – or stupid. It's your choice, really. (It's all just a big game of fortuna, as it's the other people that form their opinion on you and you cannot really affect that process.) It's the type of word you only see on the "most searched" list of dictionary.com and on Yahoo!'s headlines (the latter-mentioned explains the first-mentioned).
People who have to look up this word are either too smart or "too dumb" and if this being the case, they are also very likely to read Yahoo! News. Why Yahoo! in the first place uses words that are understood only by 0.01‰ (1 out of 100 000) of the population, remains yet unclear. But when you are seen to use this word, people will know (if they're intelligent enough) that you got it from nowhere else than Yahoo! News...
