A non-apology; saying sorry without apologising, even when it's clearly one's own gaffe.

A Pritipology is an insincere apology, characterised by the use of the word 'sorry', followed by other words that make clear that sorrow is 100% insincere.

"I'm sorry that you feel...".

Memorably deployed by UK Home Secretary Priti Patel in attempted defence of the UK government's woeful failure to source adequate supplies of basic personal protective equipment for frontline health-service staff during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic: "I'm sorry if people feel there have been failings..."

Privatology reveals that the “private sector” is as opaque, hierarchical, and self‑serving as any state bureaucracy.
