careless whiskers

When you have stranded wire and want to insert that into a connector, you should take care that all the tiny wires (strands) go into the connector. Any strands that miss the connector's terminal (and go stray), might end up in the vicinity of the connector, where they might be touchable by a human or animal (electric shock hazard!), or they might touch other parts of the electric circuit, and subsequently cause a short (hazard of electric fire, explosion, or ignition of flammable materials/parts nearby).
Coined sometime in this century by Clive Mitchell (aka BigCliveDotCom) in one of his YouTube videos.

extremely careless

Regular citizen definition: grossly negligent (i.e. criminal)

Hillary Clinton definition: presidential

Person 1: Dude, the FBI Director just said that Hillary Clinton was extremely careless in handling highly classified information. But I guess they're not recommending any charges be made.

Person 2: Extremely careless - doesn't that basically mean she was grossly negligent? I thought that gross negligence in transmitting classified information is prosecutable under the Espionage Act. Sounds like she should be considered a criminal.

Person 1: Nah bro, that just means she's considered presidential material.

Cakeless

In the popular video game Minecraft, food (such as cake) can heal your character.

Going "cakeless" is the act of ignoring the cake, and any potential health that it can give you, so you can be a badass instead.

The act of going "cakeless" was developed and popularized by Ray (Brownman) from Achievement Hunter, a popular YouTube Channel.

Person 1: Hey! Why didn't you eat that cake, you would have gained extra health!!

couldn't care less

The proper way to express how you don't give a crap about something - you really don't care about something and it's impossible to not care any more. The common but incorrect variant "could care less" (which would technically imply that you do care about something) is widely used because of either a translation mistake into English, or those who blindly use phrases without taking a moment to understand their actual meaning.

Person A: A company just got sued for patent infringement!
Person B: *yawn* Oh really? I couldn't care less.
