Bust a Tater

The Country Slang phrase for Fart.

- The origin of this phrase is not known. One theory is that of farmers in the deep south harvesting potatoes. Sometimes rotten potatoes (hidden in the ground) will get stepped on (or busted) and produce a very foul smell.

Hence, they busted a tater.

A person who is so afraid of having white skin (whether delusively or realistically) that they tan themselves constantly, far more than what is deemed healthy.

- "I see that girl at the tanning salon EVERY day! She is so tanorexic."

- "I'm afraid I'm becoming tanorexic, I can't go more than a few days without tanning before I start to feel pale!"
