kataang

The name fans use to refer to a particular relationship from the Nickelodeon TV show Avatar:The Last Airbender. Like many "ship" names, it is a portmanteau of the names of the characters involved: Katara and Aang. Aang is the hero of the story and is the most recent incarnation of the avatar, a powerful human capable of mastering all four of the show's elemental bending magics. Katara is the show's female lead and is the last remaining waterbender from the Southern Water Tribe. Kataang is generally considered to be more likely to become the canon relationship by the series' end than its main competitor, Zutara.
