Board man gets paid

1) Popularized by NBA superstar Kawhi Leonard, the board man, who is the person doing all the hard work of rebound that is usually not in the spotlight of the basketball game. The saying in this context simply means anyone who is working hard should get a matching reward for their hard work.

2) This saying can also be traced back to Afro-Caribbean communities where during the table games such as pool or ping pong, the board man is the third person who ensures the game is fair. In this context the saying means that whoever contributes to the success of anyone or anything, should be rewarded as well for their continuations.
Emergency workers deserve to be recognized and rewarded by our society just as entertainers. I mean, the board man gets paid, yeah?

boards.ie

An authoritarian like message board where the moderators brag to each other publicly about banning posters (Mod: eh, Mickey, who'cha ban today?...NO-ONE?!?! *falls off chair*) and where you can't mention the word knacker without getting an infraction and 2 week ban from the forum. (despite the fact that these vile creatures are responsible for 50% of crime in my town, despite making up less than 5% of the populace.)

There are hundreds upon hundreds of forums, some which have on average a post once every 3 months. If you piss of one of the many moderators (an extremely easy thing to do) expect your new thread to be moved to some obscure forum which hasn't had a post for 3 months, and if you disagree with the moderator you'll get an infraction.

After Hours is the most popular board, this is where the moderators brag most about banning other members daily. If you make a post about O' Connell Street you will get plenty of responses in this forum. But if you piss of one of the moderators expect your thread to go into the architecture forum, or the bird watching forum or some shit. (as there are boards that fly over O' Connell Street.) In either forum there will 1 post in the past 6 months, a new thread in the past year.

I got banned multiple times (despite not being banned from any other forum i've ever posted on.) which just sparks the authoritarian image. It has the potential to be a good site, it's a pity you can't speak your opinion.

boarding school

A frequently-stereotyped educational institution that often features a more diverse population than most people believe. Contrary to popular belief, not all boarding school students are snotty, preppy airheads and jocks. Not all are sent there as preparation for becoming trophy wives or CEOs. Boarding schools are not as weird and sheltered as they are portrayed to be (especially not for day students) and they do have significant value other than "getting the kids out of the way".

Many parents send children to boarding schools for high school because they feel this will better prepare them for college life. Others live in areas with poor public schooling systems and elect to send their children elsewhere, so they can have a better education. It may come as a shock to some that many boarding school students come from extremely rural areas or from so-called "bad neighborhoods" and are there on scholarship.

Living at a boarding school often puts kids in contact with people they would never meet otherwise, as students often come from all over the world. Interacting with people from different places and backgrounds generally broadens the students' minds and horizons. Dorm life requires that they learn to live with other people and to effectively resolve problems with roommates and neighbors.

It is recommended that one actually visit or attend a boarding school (as with a public or other private school) before passing judgement.
Boarding schools in general are not the elitist "rich kids' schools" they are made out to be.

Message board

A Message board is a rag-tag collection of pretentious douchebags. Any type of social reject will be found on an message board. For instance,
1. Nerdy Crybabies.
2. Internet Tough-guys.
3. Racists.
4. Passive-Aggressive Assholes.
5. Aggressive Assholes.
6. Tools/Try-Hards.
7. Perverts.
8. Misogynists.
9. Dorks.
10. Basically anyone who the world is a better place without.

Any kind of normal person will eventually be driven away by the circle-jerk of a clusterfuck of nerds stroking each others egos.
Types of people you will encounter on a Message board:
Nerd 1: Anyone who doesn't baby me through life is an asshole.
Nerd 2: I agree, the world is full of meanies!
Nerd 3: I'm a badass, I'm tougher than you! Everyone sucks except me!
Nerd 4: I'm 35 years old and I'm still afraid of the dark, can someone hold me?

Gamefaqs message boards

Like the dude above me said, GameFAQS comes very close to Fascism. Cjayc (the owner) must know this because if you call some one a Fascist or compare anything to Fascism you'd be dealt with severely. Cjayc wants you to believe that he does this for good reasons, because no one deserves that comparison. He also insults you saying any one who does make that comparison has no knowledge of history. Way to protect your ass. Cjayc being the leader obviously represents Hitler. Then there are a select few in a class called Admin. If you contest a moderation, these people will review it, MOST likely side with the moderator (I've never heard of it going the other way around). The moderator could be dead wrong and the admin will STILL side with them (this I know from personal experience). I'll go more into detail about how flawed this is in my example. Simply put, the Admin could be compared to General Rommel except nowhere near as intelligent or strategic. Then you have the moderators themselves who can be compared to the Gestapo, the secret police. I tell you write now, I have never seen a more corrupt form of executive power than these people. What really seperates the Admin from the Moderators is the maturity factor. The Moderators more than often take sides, and join in the arguments themselves. And of course it is no surprise that the moderators are dimwits and when they see they are losing the arguement, THEN they mod you. Finally you have the regular posters. You can split them into two categories. MMA Whores and "Trolls". MMA whores kiss up to the moderators and look for every chance they have to mod some one, they're back stabbers and squealers. MMA means Marked Message Accuracy, strong is the highest ranking and this is what they aim for. I had strong and I can tell you, it does nothing. MMA doesn't mean anything. What MMA is really for is to encourage people to mark messages for moderation more often. Sadly the MMA Whores fall for this. These MMA Whores are the blind supporters of the Moderators, and it is their dream to become one. Then you have the only group of people (Besides the VIPs) who post on GameFAQS that are intelligent. Believe it or not, it is the trolls. They're funny, smart, talented, opinionated, targeted, and persecuted.
Let me show you an example now of the moderation system. Say some one calls me a moron and then I call him an idiot. We both mark each other for moderation. Marked messages apparently go to some inbox that the moderator reviews. The moderator usually picks a side and will mod one, but not the other. So he'll mod me for calling some one an idiot, but won't mod them for calling me a moron. Now you can contest this moderation. And when you do you write out what you have to say. Let us suppose that I wrote to the moderator, "Hey he called me a moron, and you didn't mod him." The moderator will usually respond with "You should have marked him for moderation then."

HELLO THAT'S WHAT I DID! You the have the option to contest this to an admin. Here's the biggest flaw in the system, you don't have the chance to write out another commect counter attacking the moderator's comment. Since the moderator has the last word, the admin thinks he has the better argument and will side with them. You'd think GameFAQS, would at least give you the option to counter what the moderator said, Ebay has a system like this when people leave negative feedback.

GameFAQs Message Boards

Let's start with a basic description of the GameFAQs Message Boards and the moderators. The mods are basically like a certain group in history that tried to kill anyone that they did not like. I will put these guys into simple catergories for easier reading.

Users - These guys could either be the civilians that snitch on people in hiding for cash(which, in this case, is karma)or these guys could be the short-lived rebellion. Within the rebellion group, we have the sub-catergories. We've got the defensive ones that don't do anything unless they are provoked into doing so and then you've got the offensive guys, who will try to strike first. The defensive guys are basically the users that usually do good enough to not get any moderations, but when they get a moderation for something silly, that's when they cuss out people, thus resulting in more heat from the mods. The offensive guys, are the guys that intentionally get themselves modded, as a symbol of defiance. Most of these guys are the trolls(who are explained later) and the account suiciders. These guys, ironically, are the only reason to even step near the message boards. They are so entertaining, that even the suckiest troll/account suicide topics are hilarious in some way.

Then you've got the snitches. The guys that are the "I never do anything wrong!" type of guys. They mark messages here and there, thinking that they are doing anything of significance. These guys have hopes of becoming moderators(as weird as that may sound) and they believe that by getting on a mod's good side, they will eventually be raised up to moderator level. One benefit that these guys have is that they DO get on a mod's good side by doing this, and therefore, are banned less than the regular users. By regular users, I basically mean people who post a "Help Me!" topic once every two weeks.

Mods - "The Green Police" as they call it. These guys are responsible for everything, yet nothing. What I mean is that they do all the work, but truthfully, they are not the masterminds behind it. These guys are the most unforgiving bastards you will ever see, and I'm including real-life, too. If these guys don't agree with your opinion, your post is considered trolling. One user has even gotten warned because his sig separator wasn't the default GameFaqs one. If these guys don't understand how your topic is on-topic, they'll simply mark it as "Off-Topic." Posting a telephone number for a phone company is considered harassment. These guys can ban you for ANYTHING. They will even go as far as to create a temporary rule that you 'coincidentally' broke at the same moment this rule was created. Topics with pornography in it last about half an hour, but anything mentioning how abusive the mods are gets deleted within the first 5 seconds of its lifespan. Remember, there is nothing in the rules that says you can't have an opinion against moderators. It IS against the rules to post porn, and as a matter of fact, it is one of the worst weapons to be used by account suiciders. Apparently, talking about how corrupted the mods are is considered "Trolling: Inciting Other Users to Post With Flames." It seems that everytime one of these topics come up, the only users offended by it are the mods themselves. When you try to contest a moderation, the response you get most of the time will be "It was a ToS violation" with no further explanation. Now, if you have a mod that's experiencing a period, that's another story. Banned right away.

Adminstrators - Finally, we've got the Nazi leader himself(or themselves, in this case). They do nothing but sit on their fat asses waiting for a mod to give them a user's contest. These guys are rarely known for any direct engaging, and are more strategic. They give out orders to the mods, which is basically a one liner that says "Eliminate them all." The mods give them a contest, and because Mod Joey and Admin Frank are pals, Frank takes Joey word for it. They don't read the responses. This makes the contest system absolutely worthless. And the message it has above the box where you post your contest, "However, because two mods agreed that it was a moderation, you most likely won't get it restored."After you contest it for the admin, and he disagrees with you (or disregards the fact that you even typed anything) there's no more hope left. You're finished, and you can't do another contest for....no not 3 days, no not a week, no, not even a month, but THREE MONTHS. It's a pretty stupid penalty for having a different viewpoint from the admin, who grinds on the mod's dicks anyway. At this point, you should just say 'Fuck GameFaqs' and the leave the site. Of course, there's one group of people that will make you stay.

Trolls - Ironically, it's these guys that keep you on the website. These are the guys that generally push people away from GameFaqs, but these guys also rope in much more than the amount that they made leave. These guys are clever, funny, and believe it or not, intelligent(for the most part). These guys are not aligned with either the users or moderators. These are just crazy guys that unintentionally piss of the mods and all of GameFaq's moderators. Their hilariousness will keep you coming back to GameFaqs. These guys are the general target of the GameFaq's staff.
