Verb. Any and all actions a person accomplishes during a normal time of sleep, excluding breathing and dreaming. If you should be asleep and someone asks you what you are doing, you can cover watching TV, jerking off, drinking yourself into a stupor, chatting online, or anything at all by simply telling them you are insomniating.

At 3:30 AM, instead of sleeping, Michael was insomniating by playing on his tablet and watching TV .
