One of the greatest, hard driving, indi-punk bands ever! The music is said to extend the dynamic and frequency ranges of analog. Formed in Chicago, the band is headed up by Steve Albini, formerly of Big Black and Rapeman. The other members include Bob Weston, and Todd Trainer. Both Steve Albini and Todd Trainer are known widely through the music industry as producers. Shellac is one of the best kept musical secrets of the 1990s.
P.S. There are so many aspects to this band and what it does, it would be impossible to list them all.

P.S.S. If your idea of an indi band is R.E.M., this isn't the band for you!

Named for the "blue shell" in Super Mario Kart games. A politician who creates a policy whose purpose is to slow down or eliminate those who have gotten ahead in society. The effect is to eliminate the current leaders and replace them with a new leader.

Barack Obama is a blue shell politician.

Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex

An anime cartoon at airs on Adult Swim Monday through Wednesday at 1:30 AM, and then again at 4:30 AM. Know as a cyberpunk classic, the series is about the time between the two movies "Ghost in the Shell" and "Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence" in which a cyber crime fighting unit known as Section 9 fights cyber warfare and keeps things in check from a cyber hacker known as the "Laughing Man."

I stayed up until 1:30 AM to watch Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex.
