Big Block

In many cities, the size of each city block is standardized. There may be 8 or 10 blocks per mile, for example, in the downtown area. In many suburbs, or other areas, you will find places where you would expect there to be a cross-street, but it was omitted, leading to an extra-long walk or drive before encountering a cross street. This is described as a "big block," so you know what to expect when you are in the area.

Get off the bus at the hospital. You'll need to walk three big blocks south until you get to Elk Grove Avenue, my street.

I love walking in Rio, because it has such big blocks, full of nice buildings!

Example:
Hypothetically, at a bar mitzvah, a boy named Ryan and his SO, Harley, are making out. Harley's friend Remy was driving her home. While they were hooking up, Remy lies about them having to leave. This is preventing Ryan from going further, thus a cockblock. In this situation, Remy is a cock blocker, and the action where she cock blocked, was tricking Harley to stop.

Aidan- "Did Ryan get with Harley?"
Graham- "No, Remy cockblocked."
Aidan- "She is such a cock block."

Crock-Block

The "crock-block" or "Crocket Curse" is a term used to describe horrific travel issues that fencing referees endure such as hours-long flight delays, flight cancellations, missed connections, or lost luggage.

It was lovingly named after referee Daniel Crocket who experiences more horrific travel issues than any other referee. Referees sharing flights with Crockett are often terrified that they will not make it to the tournament.

I was on my way to Summer Nationals and every flight I could take was canceled. I've been crock-blocked.
