ice cream core

A musical genre in the foundling stage, the term deriving from a popular dairy food item. The genre's sound is best described as 'daring and flavourful,' and features many inventive forms of instrumentation.

The movement is starting to make waves primarily due to the work of Canadian musical collective Tiger Tiger, whose line-up includes the very best paper-crumpler performing today.

Colette

Someone who is not like anyone else you’ve met. She has your wrapped around her finger in seconds. She is an incredibly strong girl who’s been through a lot but she doesn’t let her past phase her. She’s a badass like that. She is so hot and has the most impeccable style. She owns who she is and she’s not afraid of what people might think. She is an amazing person who cares for others but knows excalty how to take care of herself and live life the good way. Everyone should look up to Colette and love her for who she is because she is Extraordinary.

Human: That girl is so cool, I want to be like that.

Human 2: Yep, that’s colette, no one could ever be like that, she is amazing.

To Comet

To comet a person (i.e. do the comet) means to fart in an isolated area but still near enough to people where you can walk amongst them and the tail end (or comet part of your fart) either still resonates or is still strong enough that they smell it, but the fact that it was you remains hidden because you did not pass wind directly in front of them; allowing you to deny it. The fact that it dissipates quickly also allows you to deny it since most farts stay in the area for a time. This technique should only be used someone you don't like.

"Yesterday I saw this guy who gave me some shit last week so I decided to comet him and he had no idea. You should have seen the look on his face as he tried to figure out where the smell came from!"

"Sometimes I comet a random bunch of people as I'm walking through the hall to my next class".

non-core promise

A commitment to deliver (a service, funding, an item) that is subsequently set aside. The broken promise is then explained with the glib expression "oh, but that promise was non-core".

Now generalised to non-political situations, too.

Origin: Australian federal elections at the turn of the 20th/21st centuries. The conservative party (known as the Liberal/National coalition) made a number of election promises which were broken soon after the election. The prime minister, John Howard, attempted to explain this behaviour by claiming that some promises are "core" and some are "non-core" and thus, don't count.

Not only did "No tax increases, no new taxes" turn out to be a non-core promise, but in the campaign, Howard had also given a solemn undertaking that "I'm not going to break any promises". That one was certainly non-core.
