drum and bass

As explained by people to have adopted a considerable amount of influence from different genres of music, through the years drum and bass has developed to form its own sub-genres :

Darkstep
Drumfunk
Electrostep
Futurestep
Hardstep
Intelligent or Atmospheric
Jazzstep
Jump-up
Liquid Funk
Techstep
Breakcore

Probably one of the most carefully structured and best produced music in the modern world. Many people say that the "drum and bass effect" gives off pleasurable feelings of past blissful memories, makes users somewhat look forward to the future, dear memories of love and passionate relationships, giving off a somewhat uplifting feeling to particular users, who have a bit more of an artistic influence and background, and who dont enjoy the musical rape of 50 cent and other "big" rnb , mainstream hip-hop artists.

In conclusion: Drum and bass has come a long way, affecting millions of listeners throughout the globe, it hasn't even started to spread its sphere of influence. People who have hearts, people who think twice and people who actually know what music productions is mostly about. All in all bless the bassheads.

drummer tan

A tan that marching band drummers usually get. The tan consists of a shortline, sockline, and carrier lines.
Look at Christian; you can see exactly where his carrier rests on his shoulders.
Dude, he has a drummer tan.

drummering

The act of imitating a drummer, usually as to tap one's fingers on a table or dashboard, sometimes to tap your foot (usually for the bass drum effect), in sync to a song playing.
"Would you stop drummering to Pantera; it's getting annoying."

or

"Do you know who plays drums for Slayer?"
"Yeah, Dave Lombardo. Why?"
"Well, let's keep it that way. Stop drummering. Douche."

Drummer Arm

When one of your arms is bigger than the other. Usually your dominant arm.
"Hey Jack, your drummer arm is awful!"

"I know bro, my left is so much larger than my right."

Def Leppard drum solo

The act of using one hand to hold your penis and hit someone in the face repeatedly.
My Def Leppard drum solo gave that girl a black eye.

drum major

An experienced member of a marching band who leads the other band members in the director's stead. They bear the responsibilities of maintaining discipline, improving the band's marching and playing abilities, and doing what they can to lighten the burden of the director. Drum majors are often seen as pompous, condescending jerks who are incapable of thinking for themselves once they have been given the position. This may true for some, but more often than not, the drum major is a respectable person who is merely trying to take his job seriously while mainting social relationships with other band members. During performances, drum majors conduct the band and maintain a consistent tempo. An ideal band will have it's drumline watching the drum major and the rest of the band following the drumline. The drum major tends to wear a uniform that is distinctly unique from the rest of the band so as to be easily identified in parades, on the field, at competitions, etcetera.
New Member: Why is the drum major such a jerk to everyone?

Veteran Member: I know he can be an arse sometimes, but he's just doing his job.

Director: Is the band ready to perform on Saturday?

Drum Major: Yes. We were having trouble with some of our sets and it was a bit difficult keeping everyone in time, but we tweaked a few things and we should be fine.

Band Member: Dude, what's your problem? You don't have to be rude about it, just loosen up.

Drum Major: Look, I know I can come across as a jerk, but it's frustrating when I tell you all to do something and you take advantage my patience and don't listen.

drum corps

Many of the top marching musicians of a region participating in an event similar to marching band, but different in the fact that it uses only brass and percussion instruments. Woodwinds (clarinets, flutes, saxophones, etc) are excluded from drum corps. Despite what many bandos will say, Drum Corps is not "marching band on steroids," but a totally beast than both college or high school marching bands. It requires immense amounts of both time and energy to march in a drum corps, and is a truly amazing experience for all Corps Members.
