pseudo-patriot

Conservatives who's loyalty to America and democratic institutions are less than their loyalty to their ethnicity (in support of White nationalism) and political affiliation (ends-justify-the-means support of the Republican party).

For example, supporting or ignoring a foreign adversary's attack/intervention into the election process. Dismissing a free press and their duty to hold politicians accountable if it hurts short term conservative interests by asserting false accusations of fake news and by deflecting attention toward unfounded conspiracy theories.
The pseudo-patriot Trump supporter accuses Obama of bowing to the Saudis, but completely rationalize Trump's bow. He completely lacks any principles when confronted with facts about Trump's connections with Russia. He justifies Russia's manipulation of the American election system. But he wants to ban flag-burning.

Sensible Patriot

1) A leftist simp with an ironic name.

2) A Democratic mouthpiece who often spins any negative situations to favor the left a la Jennifer Psaki.
Sensible Patriot should change his name to something more fitting considering how unfitting it has gotten as time went by, even for him.

Douchebag Patriot

Someone who proclaims his/her support for the constitution, limited government, personal liberties, and the free market yet derides people who choose to vote for candidates that actually support these ideas because such candidates are deemed "un-electable".
Douchebag Patriot: You're voting for Gary Johnson? A vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for Obama! You need to vote for Romney!

Non-douche: First, I can assure you that voting for Gary Johnson will in no way add any votes to Obama's count. Secondly, Gary Johnson actually stands for the things that I feel are important, Romney only says what he thinks will get him re-elected. Romney's record does not reflect anything that you claim to support.

Douchebag Patriot: You must secretly be a liberal. Gary Johnson won't win. Romney may not be my first choice but we have to defeat Obama! This election is too important!

Non-douche: I wish I had a dollar for every person who has told me that they aren't voting for Gary Johnson or Ron Paul because they can't win. The idea that this election is somehow more important than any other is merely the same recycled hogwash that we hear every election year in an attempt to win third party supporters over for another RINO. Voting for Romney will only assure that we will get another RINO next time.

Douchebag Patriot: You're an idiot! I am going to block you now.

Makeshift Patriot

A makeshift patriot is someone who is manipulated into a sense of patriotism by the media, the government and other sources outside of their own experience. This definition comes from an interpretation of the song by the same name by the artist Sage Francis.
Don't waive your rights with your flags.

Fair Weather Patriot

Someone who waxes philosophical about being Patriotic but would never actually join the Military and put their ass on the line for anything. To the Fair Weather Patriot simply voting and paying taxes is enough.
Fair Weather Patriot: (Singing Lee Greenwood) "And I'd gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today!"

Military Guy: (Interrupting) "Hey man you know we've been at war for like ten years now right? Why haven't you stood up next to me and defended her still today like the song says?"

Fair Weather Patriot: "I do my part -- I vote and pay my taxes."
