Lowjack

This word was used in the mid-late 1980’s and 1990’s, and was used to describe non-consensual inconspicuous tracking and surveillance, usually referring to electronic means, like low powered RF trackers or transmitter bugs.
Low: unbeknownst to the trackee. Jack: derived from hi-jack.
It is where the concept for the movie “Freejack” came from, and the name of the brand for anti-theft device for cars originated.
The FBI found the criminal’s location, because the package they were carrying was lowjacked.

The CIA was able to listen in to the union contract negotiation because one of the shop stewards was lowjacked.
