Cratering

When used in the context of video games, Cratering refers to taking damage and/or dying from falling. Refers to the idea that when an object hits another object at high speed (in this case, your body hits the ground) it leaves a crater.

Caspering

The art of ghosting someone in a friendly way. When you don't have the heart to full on ghost them, so you start cutting and reducing all interactions until they take the hint and give up.

Take forever to reply and only give short responses that can't lead to further conversation.

Similar to gas-lighting but without the intention of possible future interaction. Letting someone down gently.
Friend: how did it go with that girl

You: she's nice but I don't want to see her again so I'm caspering her til she takes the hint

Catering to the Casuals

A phenomenon that occurs when a video game developer changes a game mechanic to make the game easier for new players. Alternatively, if a game developer lessens the skill gap, then this phrase fits the mould as well. This typically makes the game less enjoyable over a longer period of time
When call of duty added the perk “final stand” they were catering to the casuals.
