Jonesboro

A college town in the conservative, bible-thumping, gun wielding Delta region of Northeast Arkansas. Located roughly 80 miles west of Memphis, Tennessee. Also known as Jonesboring and Jonesboogie, Rockansas. Made the news in the last decade or so for the "Jonesboro Witch Burnings" and a school shooting.

Jonesboro is a crappy place to live unless you are a right-wing, Southern baptist.

Jonestown

n. phenomenon that occurs in the wake of a house party, when large numbers of party-goers may pass out where ever they can find room. This scene brings to mind the news footage of the 1978 Jonestown mass suicide in Guyana in which 909 followers of Jim Jones were coerced into drinking cyanide laced beverages (see also kool-aid party). The chilling images captured after the cult suicide depicted piles of oddly serene bodies scattered throughout a compound, like the drunken, passed-out party-goers.

Jonesborough

The oldest town in Tennessee. Located in N.E right outside from Johnson city, about an hour and a half from Knoxville. Known for the storytelling festival. Many events go on down town. Surrounded by Johnson City, Erwin, and Elizabethton. Personal advice: Do not go to the Black Olive.

Person A: "Hey wanna go to the storytelling festival this weekend?"

Person B: "Yeah isn't that in downtown Jonesborough?"
