One who has an affinity for all things relating to cannabis. Can be a synonym for a cannabis connoisseur. A cannabist is essentially more than a marijuana smoker, he or she is a marijuana enthusiast. A cannabist can often be spotted with his nose in a baggie of bud for long periods of time, or examining a nugget or brick of hash up close with a magnifying class as if it was a piece of jewelry. Most cannabists are familiar with most aspects of cannabis culture-- breeding, growing, smoking, rolling, smoking device construction, etc. Some may contend a cannabist is nothing more than a marijuana geek.

very similar to a wine snob but a cannabisnob thinks they know everything about marijuana.

dude i was at two dispensaries today and both of them had a cannabisnob working there that thought they knew everything about weed. it kind of ruined my high.

A Cannabis Connoisseur is an individual with a vast knowledge in anything related with Cannabis. This individual can tell you everything there is to know about cannabis. From the name of the strain to the flavor and the type of highs. He can identify Indicas from Sativas, and anything in between. He can also give you a list of recipes that include cannabis.

Mundo: "So what kind of bud do you have today man?"

Larry: "Oh, I got some New York City Sour Diesel. Man, this one is bomb. Just look at the soft green color on this, and all the tri-combs. It has a strong scent, smells kind of dank. The texture is just perfect, it's soft, spongy, and it's soo sticky. The high on this strain is killer! Compared to that Afghani Kush, this one kills it."

Mundo: "Damn, you're a total cannabis connoisseur."
