workplace folk hero

Term used to describe a person who is or was generally fearless in their committed demonstrations of questioning what is often oppressive authority.
She was a workplace folk hero who had some impressive write-ups, righteous confrontations, refusals to obey absurd rules, a foul mouth at the perfect times, occasional meltdowns and a talent for ferreting out avoidant bosses; she also possessed a colorful selection of anti-workplace socks that many found supportive and hilarious.

When you are hired by an organization and are told that your position is one big adventure to get you to accept less pay but it turns out to be a boring assignment that is much less interesting and glamorous.
I was charmed and brown-nosed all through the interview and then hired to do the work of a near-god, but I quickly discovered that I was the newest victim of their workplace bait and switch scam.

workouttard

A disparaging nickname for a person who thinks they know the best approach to working out but who fails miserably.

workplace caricature

A term for a workplace colleague who generally behaves in an outwardly extreme manner, one who enjoys playing an exaggerated version of themselves.
Yeah, he becomes easily bored and when that happens, he’s off into his role as a total workplace caricature because everybody laughs and he gets all that attention!

workplace hoarder

That older colleague whose office is unable to be cleaned by the cleaning crew because they believe in “keeping hard copies.”
I am most deeply offended by the term “workplace hoarder” and NO, you may NOT touch that stack, it contains the most lucrative accounts we have serviced, all the way back to 1982!
