Puddle Duck

(term, apparently only used in some places on the island of Newfoundland)

Someone who is not doing what they could be doing. Normally specific to the situation.

Used normally as a nudge to take action. To point out something someone is doing or not doing, or could be doing.

Like a duck sitting in a puddle. Ducks can waddle, swim and fly, explore the whole world but this particular duck is sitting in a puddle.

"Great wide world to explore, stop being a Puddle Duck."

"You aren't happy on your relationship, stop being a Puddle Duck."

"Ready to go there Puddle Duck? We are waiting on you."
