Slang for getting an erection. A reference to the movement of the hands of an analog clock or watch from six o'clock to midnight.

The "Midnight Special" is a passenger train from Houston. It's light shines into the Sugar Land Prison in Texas. The lyrics of the Creedance Clearwater song are about the woes of a African American man who has been imprisoned for gambling and fighting.
