lincoln-douglas debate

1. The type of debate that is similar to policy debate, except that it is based on the debater's ability to think creatively and logically, rather than their ability to spew random facts at a rate that makes them sound to everybody except for other debaters like someone who is either vomiting out syllables or is demon-possessed. Generally accepted as the best kind of debate, as it allows the most room for crazy mind-grenade generating arguments. Lincoln douglas debaters are generally acknowledged to be twice as good as either pofo or policy debaters, because it takes two of the other types of debaters to make a team, but only one lincoln douglas debater.

Messina-Genaro Debate

A form of debate developed due to the flaws with Public Form and Lincoln Douglas Debate. The format is slightly different in a sense that there is an inherant Value and Value Criterion. The Value is "Crispyness" and the Value Criterion is "Jeffersonism".
Messina-Genaro Debate is far more crispy than LD and PF.

non-debate

A non-debate is where a controversial topic generates discussion, but neither side debates with each other in any meaningful way, instead choosing to remain in "camps" on either side of the non-debate, where they will validate each others views.

When they enter the non-debate, they will discuss things not to have their minds change, or to change others minds, they will only discuss to reinforce their own beliefs, since the "opposition" is an inferior mind with inferior views. This leads to both camps becoming echo chambers that exist off of each other, and will continue to grow until both echo chambers have been disassembled, and dismantled.
Person A-"Immigrants are invaders!"
Person B-"Racist! Racist! Racist!"
Person A-"Can you even cuck any harder?"
Person C-"My oh my, look at this great non-debate happening."

Political debate

With negative situations it's always better to be open about them and get them behind you ASAP. If you don't, voters may feel that you're trying to hide something. If your opponent has any sense of campaign tactics you can bet that your opponent has done some "opposition research" on you. It's far better if you take pre-emptive action rather than have your opponent expose the negatives to the voters. You want to be in a position to say that "everyone knows that--it's old news."

2020 debate

Probably the most fucked up debate in American history. It's mainly about this racist dumbass interrupting his opponent.
