An awkward event. It's like going to a preteen party. People are standing around bc they don't know what a real hoedown is.

Mom: "Hey son, how was the party?
Son: "It was a preteen hoedown. That's the last middle school dance I'm chaperoning for the PTA. I've never felt so much awkwardness in my life."
Younger son: "You mean...that's not how all hoedowns go?"

Describes a type of person, someone you could end up dating or in a friendship with. The type of person that SEEMS really outgoing, independant, confident, and all that sort of stuff at first, but as a few months go by you realize that they are a life-sucking, clingy, insecure shell of a human being that defines their entire worth through whoever they are with at the moment. I loathe to think I will ever meet another pretendependant woman EVAR.
