To pass out or die while at the computer. Supposedly because when one's head hits the keyboard it goes "fwop!" The equivalent expression in French is "fuaup" (infinitive: fuaupir).

Fast Eddie/FE2 came up with this word around July 2003 after he got sick of people using pwned, which is basically a typo that got popular and decided that this would be more original.

The Cubs and Red Sox got fwned in the League Championship Series in 2003.
