Abbreviation for Signature Confirmation. This service is provided by the United States Postal Service (USPS). It benefits companies, private sellers (e.g., ebay, amazon,etsy, et al.), and their customers by preventing packages from being stolen porch pirates. If the customer (or other authorized party) is not available to sign for the item, it will be held for pick-up at the post office.

To protect against porch pirates, be sure to add sigcon.
