1. Subtly trying to find out if a family member is dtf without destroying your relationship if they are not.

2. Portmanteau of Incest and Instigate. Putting two or more people who are related in naughty situations to see if they'll go for eachother.

A term coined in Australia during the Morrison Federal Government years (2019-2022) by political/social commentator Ronni Salt as a cynical reference to a number of formal government investigations into topical controversies. These investigations typically concluded by either being suspended indefinitely, or with a set of dubious or undisclosed findings.
They were led by the Secretary of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Office, Philip Gaetjens.

Someone referring to a sham political investigation of any kind would say: “They're just doing an investigaetjens“.
