Flashback-Effect

The flashback-effect is a situation at which one reads something and pictures it in his or her mind with the blurry border, as if it were a scene in a television show and the protagonist were encountering a flashback.

My brother Landon would be twenty-two in a couple days if it weren’t for the shooting right next to where I was sitting. He always came to the skate park with his best friends Cameron and Liam when we were all little kids, and he went boasting to our family about his marvelous skateboarding skills. Flash

A hockey player who was never good but always thought he was good. A flash typically plays deep into their 30s and 40s despite the lack of skill. Flash's are usually relatively nice guys, but they aren't very smart. They also gravitate to the younger rookies on the team and attempt to teach them of all their hockey knowledge, although the rookies seldom listen, which is probably for the best.

There is also often a power struggle between better players and a flash because A flash thinks they're so good that they should be getting all the ice time over the actual skilled players.
