bed snob

A bed snob is a person who is very particular of which beds they will sleep in. For the bed snob, the bed must meet a minimum criteria and the bed snob has been known to spend an obscene amount of money to construct such bed. Starting with a proper mattress and box spring selection to linens and finally, pillows. A bed snob will stop at nothing to have the most comfortable bed. So comfortable, that when people come to visit and sleep in your bed, guests will go on and on about how fantastic your sheets are or how soft your pillows are. They rave about how well they slept and haven't slept that well in a LONG time and, finally, vow to go straight home and become the ultimate snob bed and pass on their knowledge.

Do not offer a bed snob an air mattress (unless you never want these people to visit you ever again). A bed snob requires adjustable mattresses, high thread count sheets and matching down pillow/comforter set.

Scobe

Scumbag usually seen on the streets of Cork, Dublin or Limerick. General attire is tracksuit pants, Nike baseball cap, hoody and Celtic jersey for male scobes and pink sweat pants, hoody and huge hoop ear rings for female scobes. All wear too much bling jewellery (Sovvies on each finger, gold chains and bracelets), almost all of which is either stolen or electroplated copper. Also under the delusion that Dutch Gold qualifies as decent beer.

Generally drive Fiat Puntos, Honda Civics or Toyota Starlets with body kits and stripped out mufflers with the delusion that these make the car go faster. Also play their hip hop too loud for anybody with half a brain to put up with. The boy racer is a well-known sub-division of the scobe.

They are hated by all respectable people, but the most deep-rooted rivalries are with grungers.

One who only listens to obscure bands, shuns anything more popular than that, and tries to drill it into you.

Music snob: "What are you listening to?"
Person: "AC/DC."
Music snob: "Why do you even bother with that crap, try some -insert here pretentious-pseudo-intellectual-band-name-."

gear snob

1. A person who looks down on music because it was not recorded with top of the line music gear or a certain type of music gear (ex. more expensive music gear, or analog music gear).

2. A person who is in a band or makes music and thinks their music is better than others' due to the fact that they have better/ more expensive music gear.

A gear snob is most likely to be a critic of electronic music and electronic music bands because of the gear they use.

New York Snob

A person from NYC that is completely convinced their city is the best of all. They often compare themselves to other major cities, such as Philadelphia, and Detroit. They are known for moving to other places, and starting whole hate websites, such as whyihatephilly.com. When people ask them the simple fact of them leaving, they often tell the person they make too much money (due to the city's low taxes), and still stay. They make any local proud of their city upset, and feel as if they need to move to NYC.

New York Snob: Philadelphia is so dirty, I hate all the people there! They're so rude, and unattractive. The whole city reeks of shit and mustard!
Local: Then why don't you go back to your precious New York?
New York Snob: Because it cost way to much money to live there.

A patron of a fitness center, usually male, who through training, is very muscular and well developed, and hence, has the attitude that anyone else who is not in the same condition is not worthy of his attention.

E-Snob

E-Snob or Electronic Snob.
An E-snob is a person who frequently uses the internet, usually through instant messaging services such as Yahoo or MSN etc, and has regular friends or contacts on their instant messaging list of which at times they may choose to ignore a particular person/contact’s presence and by doing so they are partaking in the act of ‘E-snobbing’
This term by defenition is not exclusive solely to instant messaging services, but could also cover a range of communication based contacts such as email and forum boards where similar cirucmstances apply in the frequency of communication between regular or semi regular contacts.

Example.
‘Hand-man’ ( theoretical chat user name . 1 ) logs into ‘yahoo messenger’, and sees/notices through alert of arrival, ‘contact’ ‘big boi oi ( theoretical chat user name .2 )’ online and refuses to acknowledge his presence. {this is E-snobbing}
