Pulling a Stroll

“Pulling a Stroll” is when you draw the ire of an entire fan base and/or community through blatant nepotism.

It is the inverse of “livin’ like Lando” wherein you are a beloved figure who can do no wrong, much like Jesus Christ reincarnated.

Why is Dan speaking to the chairman?

opposite-sidewalks stroll

Refers to where you and an acquaintance go for a jaunt along a street or nature-trail, but you each walk "separately" on either side of the lane instead of just traipsing along side-by-side in the usual way. This less-common practice could be for any of a variety of reasons, such as that the area's sidewalks are simply too narrow for two people to safely walk double-file, or that you and your companion are cleaning up trash along both sides of the road, or perhaps you're helping each other to look for one or more scattered items that got accidentally dropped sometime earlier.

Another good purpose for an opposite-sidewalks stroll would be if your walking-companion owes you some money that he presently has no way of paying back, and so you and he are collecting discarded returnable containers along the local roadways to earn a little additional cash towards the amount that he owes you. Extra points if your buddy willingly carries all the bags as they get filled with returnables, so that you yourself don't have to expend so much effort on his behalf; a six-cubic-foot-capacity plastic-tubbed wheelbarrow is a handy accessory here, to help ease this "weighty" burden.

A combination of Straw-Manning and Trolling.
Strolling is when a person deliberately attempts to invoke an irrational response or argument. Strolling, if done successfully, will provoke and expose a genuinely held bad argument rather than disengenuously create one in order to mischaracterize an opponents argument.

roadside untwisting-stroll

Refers to a fairly-short trek dat you take along da gravel shoulder of da highway by your house while dragging a long and somewhat-twisted/kinked length of rope, wire, tubing, etc behind you; da purpose is to gently/evenly extend said cord back out and allow da"free" or "trailing" end to rotate freely and thus unwind/remove/relax any coils and other unwanted tensioning. After you have walked an appropriate distance to adequately even everything out, you then begin carefully coiling your cord over your arm while continuing to galumph along, so dat da other end of da cord will still be free to rotate, and thus your winding-motion will not create additional twisting of da cord as you reel it in.

I occasionally get an odd look or two from passing motorists while performing a roadside untwisting-stroll after using a garden-hose or extension-cord, but I have yet to have anyone actually ask me about it... I guess most folks understand dat "you gotta do what you gotta do" in a case like this, and dey figger dat "if it gets da job done, more power to ya".
