Picky Midget

A short person who has extreme height requirements for someone to date. For example if a woman is 5ft2in tall and her dating profile says she only dates 6ft1in men, she is a picky midget. Originally found in an AITA story of a tall man who rejected a short girl because of her height requirements, even though he met them.

Glenfield Middle School

A Middle School in the NYC-suburb of Montclair, NJ, established in 1896 in an Historically Black neighborhood, Glenfield was one of the first Magnet Schools created in Northern New Jersey following the protests and race riots in the "Long Hot Summer" of 1967 and NJ Supreme Court decisions in the 60s and 70s requiring steps to combat de facto segregation beyond "freedom of choice" plans (e.g. Rice v. Montclair Board of Education, 1966, and Jenkins v. Morristown, 1971). Glenfield was designated the Magnet School for Performing Arts (while Upper Montclair's Mount Hebron - now named after Astronaut and Montclair Native Buzz Aldrin - became the Magnet School for Math and Science) - with students from any part of town able to select where to go, with bussing available. A short bus-ride from NYC theaters and TV studios, Glenfield has strong Performing Arts programs and its students and alumni have gone on to professional careers in the Performing Arts and has been used as a movie site with students selected as extras. Glenfield also has options for advanced courses in liberal arts and math and sciences. Glenfield maintains a strong connection with Black Culture and Black History, which is often included in all subjects, e.g. Black Scientists in Science classes, Black Authors in English classes, etc.

No middle men allowed

Anyone acting as a middle man is deliberately misrepresenting what I'm saying. Detain them and bring them to me immediately.

The Midnight Gap

The physical ache you feel in your chest at 11:59 PM on December 31st when the person you love is miles away. It’s the realization that no matter how loud the fireworks are, the silence of his absence is louder. You love him so much that the distance doesn't scare you, (or does it?) but on this specific night, it’s the only thing you wish you could destroy.
On New Year's Eve, this is the person you don't kiss, but the person you pray for.
Happy New Year to everyone except the miles between us. I’m feeling the midnight gap so hard right now. I just want you here.
I close my eyes, ignore the miles, and send every ounce of love I have across the map, knowing that you feel me.
