Neo-Roguelike

Defined by Derek Yu describing his game Spelunky. Also called roguelites, these games feature a resetting progression system like Rogue's, but incorporate other gameplay elements like platforming or dungeon-crawling. The period of neo-roguelikes is either still continuing, or ended around 2015.

Jolly Roger Salute

A close relative of the star spangled banner, the Jolly Roger salute, executed mostly while inebriated, occurs when a guy is giving it to a girl doggy style.
