Fauxlonial

adj. - used to describe any single family, free standing house built AFTER colonial times in the United States, but still having atavistic design characteristics of actual colonial houses. Somehow this style represents about 80% of current housing stock, thus representing a stagnation in architectural design for the last 232 years.

I'm so sick of looking at fauxlonial crap. I would much rather live in a modern house.

Australia is leading the world in residential design because they are not burdened with propagating fauxlomialism,

Fauxposal

The act of proposing to a person to whom you have no intention of actually getting married.

Cynthia threatened to break up with John if he didn't commit to her. John had no intention of marrying Cynthia, but knew a fauxposal would to buy him at least another year or two.

Someone who thinks they know everything and try to act super smart by saying very little. A lot like a philosopher, but just not. at all. Fauxlosophers tend to attend an art school.

Extremely flirtatious, but not with the intent of having sex. From "faux", meaning fake, and "promiscuous".

fauxtographer

Similar to a actual photographer, but not a real artist. Not to be confused with a simple camera owner.

Often presented as a guy with an expensive camera or photography equipment for the sole intent of taking pictures of scantily-clad beautiful women. Easily identified by cheesy pickup lines, but some are more subtle.

Mike says to April: "Shoot shoot shoot! When can I shoot you????" Mike is a fauxtographer.

Fauxto

Fauxto is a "fake photo". This was meant to be a nonnegative term for the YouTube Moriah Elizabeth painting photos instead of making photos through the means of a camera.
