Honda

Japanese engine manfacturing company that makes more then just cars. Their engines are very relible and well-built, however its nothing special to have one.
Your 2004 Honda Civic has the same specs as my 1995 Ford Contour (hazardmobile) with 103,000 miles on it, yet I would still beat you if we raced due to the drag produced by the 30 pounds of NOS stickers and the 20 pound inverted 747 wing on 3 foot stilts attacthed to the rear of your front-wheel-drive car.

My mom drives a 2001 Honda Accord V6 (proof that NOT ALL imports are 4-bangers, most of them are). It is fun to drive and everything, and looks pretty good, until you slap a sheet metal tube to the exhuast which makes it sound like the 2-stroke yamaha engine on my fishing boat and a 10 foot inverted wing which belongs on a commercial airliner.

I won a race in my Honda, a lawnmower race.

Having a small fuel-saving japanese car is great, until you destroy the engine parts and wheel geometery by 'trick' or 'ricing it out'.

TDMA

Time Division Multiple Access

A method of digital wireless communications transmission allowing a large number of users to access (in sequence) a single radio frequency channel without interference by allocating unique time slots to each user within each channel. Rather than encoding bits of data like CDMA, each frequency is broken into time slots through which bits of data flow. Data can only flow in their assigned time slots.
Cellular (mobile) Phones use CDMA, TDMA, analog, or GSM for radio (voice) transmission as well as wireless internet connections.

EPIRB

Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon

The EPRIB (or "e-piryb") is pretty much an uber-ELT that transmits a radio signal on a frequency somewhere around 406 MHz. This signal contains information regarding the location of the signal (usally a downed aircraft or ship in distress). Satellites (known as SARSAT pick up this radio signal (as well as ELT signals) and relay this information to centers like the AFRCC. Search and Rescue is then dispatched to search and rescue agencies such as The Civil Air Patrol and Coast Guard.
Because the captian of the sinking fishing boat had bought an EPIRB for his boat, the Coast Guard was able to find and rescue him quickly.

linear

(radio slang)

An amplifier used after the transceiver output. So named for its purity of amplification. Linear, in the mathematical sense, means that what comes out is directly proportional to what goes in. As far as linear amps go, if you double the input, the output is doubled and so on. This does not generate any additional frequency byproducts. If the amp is nonlinear, sums, differences and all combinations of those are generated also.
Yeah, I got a new silver eagle freeband linear, and were putting out a california kilowatt now.
