South Carolina

South Carolina was the state to officially begin the American Civil War. On April 12, 1861, Confederate troops fired on Fort Sumter in South Carolina's Charleston Harbor. In legitimate academic settings, this event is used to mark the beginning of the American Civil War.

Racism and bigotry is still alive and well within South Carolina. It never left its Confederate (secessionist), mindset, even in the current day that this definition is being written. Do not move here if you are openly gay, trans, obviously of middle eastern decent, or a dark-skinned minority.

Pre-Covid-19 pandemic, South Carolina was on many official lists as the 12th-15th placed state within the United States of America with an overall poor quality of living. This is due to a South Carolinian mindset that, "the state was never able to recover after the Civil War.". In a post-pandemic American economy, South Carolina is rapidly becoming one of the top 10 worst states to live in (according to official American economic figures). As of 2023, rural South Carolina is quickly resembling a third world country, if it did not already resemble so. The average South Carolinian would probably blame the post-pandemic state of things on President Biden as well as the aforementioned Civil War "issue".

Due to these circumstances, South Carolina is the largest trailer park in the world. South Carolina is North Carolina's dirty, alcoholic, toothless, fentanyl addicted fraternal twin.
Person 1 from New Jersey: I'm moving to South Carolina!

Person 2: Why?

Person 1 from New Jersey: Um...Myrtle Beach?

Person 2: I would highly recommend that you move to North Carolina; you'll stay within the First World in doing so.

Person 1 from New Jersey: But...Myrtle Beach?

Person 2: Was that a question?

Elon Musk

The death of Texas.

The final nail in the coffin for the Lone Star State.
Person 1: "Elon Musk is moving Tesla here to Texas bring in jobs! What a hero!"

Person 2: "Elon Musk is moving to Texas because there is almost nothing, in terms of rules and regulations, that makes employers legally responsible for their employees. It's why large manufacturing corporations have been moving to Texas from blue states in droves since around 2005."

Person 2: "You're just a socialist who hates the rich. Fox News and the AM radio warned me about people like you."

Person 1: "When you get fired immediately after breaking your back or losing an appendage at one of these recently relocated former blue state industrial complexes, don't call me up and ask me to drive you to the hospital."

Twitter

A virtual daycare for maladjusted adults.

A place where people think they are getting properly informed, which is a hubristic joke.

It is impossible to have anything substantive in 280 characters.
Person 1: Did you see the news about Syria on Twitter?

Person 2: "News" on Twitter? Was that a joke?

Person 1: Well I'm verified so if you think that I don't know what I'm talking about, you're the one that's mistaken. I have 589k followers who listen to what I have to say. I'm verified and have never lost an argument of Reddit.

Person 2: Jesus Christ, when was the last time you read a textbook?

Texas

Person 1: I'm moving to Texas next month. I need a career.

Person 2: Why are you moving to a third world country for a career? Move to Haiti while you're at it.

San Antonio

While thought of as the fastest growing city in south Texas, San Antonio is in fact the nicest city in Mexico.
Person 1: I'm moving to San Antonio for better work opportunities.

Person 2: San Antonio is a retirement/vacation city. Unless you want to have a career in retail, construction, or the restaurant industry, you should consider moving somewhere else.

Texas

Circa 2018, the entirety of the state of Texas can only be described as a blue collar hell hole.

The recent exodus of working class individuals and families from other urban blighted parts of the U.S. has caused Texas, a normally middle of the road place to live, to become yet another dead end location for anyone hoping to become the best version of themself.

The slow early 21st century death of Texas can be largely attributed to, or was at least initiated by, oil rig workers and the oil industry.

Relocators be warned; the only thing you are going to do upon moving to Texas is become a morbidly obese, stupid, underachieving, and underpaid version of yourself.

By 2022, Texas' new state motto will be "The mediocrity State; excellence is impossible when you are 80% body fat."

By 2024, Texas will surpass Florida in being the trash can of the Southern United States.
Person 1 in 2024: I'm thinking of moving to Texas. There's no state tax. I can make more money there.

Person 2 in 2024: There are also no labor laws. Ever been fired immediately after getting injured on the job? Employment is hard to find when you have a broken back and no right to legal representation. Stay where you are and get a second job.
